Chesapeake and Ohio 1309

This was my old camera, and the quality of the picture was low. This was taken 4 years ago.

4 years ago, I visited the B&O railroad museum and the first train you see before entering the roundhouse is this mallet and a C&O kanawha (Berkshire). C&O 1309 was the last Baldwin steam locomotive built for domestic use. When C&O retire the mallet, the railroad donate 1309 to the B&O railroad museum where she slowly rust as time and weather took a toll on her. Today, 1309 was sold and moved to her new home at the WMSR (Western Maryland Scenic Railroad) in Cumberland, Maryland. The WMSR wants to restore 1309 back to operation on their scenic line to Frostburg, Maryland.  Once restored, she'll be the largest steam locomotive operating east of the Mississippi River.
